THREE NEW RELEASE: AUDEMARS PIGUET ROAL OAK SELFWINDING FLYING TOURBILLON
Audemars Piguet has surprised us yet again with a sudden release, this time it is the Royal Oak Flying Tourbillion in 41m, in a set of 3 different materials: Steel, Pink Gold, and Titanium. It is the first of its kind, the First Royal Oak Flying Tourbillion, a redefinition of a classic in terms of aesthetics and complication.
This is an upgrade from the current iteration which uses the Calibre 2924 to the Calibre 2950. It also carries a flying tourbillion rather than a traditional tourbillion.
What is unique are the dial colors, the steel variant 26530ST carries a smoked blue dial that is typically reserved for the models in platinum and titanium. While the Pink Gold variant 26530OR carries a smoked grey dial that just pops with the Evolutive Tapisserie Dial.
The biggest shocker is the dial of the Titanium variant 26530TI, carrying a grey opalin dial that is probably unique to this model. But if you look even closer, you will notice something out of the ordinary. The Tapisserie Dial that is synonymous to the Royal Oak is not present to the 26530TI! The iconic ‘Clous de Paris’ guillochĂ© pattern that was present since the first Royal Oak 5402 designed by the legend GĂ©rald Genta is absent. This gives it an entire fresh new look to the Royal Oak that has mainly remained true to its roots.
What do you think of the newly released models? Do you think the absence of the Tapisserie Dial on the 26530TI is sacrilegious?
