Rolex Sports Model: Premium over 2024 Retail Price
In 2024, Rolex implemented an increase in retail prices, prompting a closer examination of the premiums held by popular models within the Daytona, Submariner, and GMT lines.
Daytona – Secondary Market Premium over 2024 Retail Price
Note: Prices are based on Brand New pieces.
GMT Master II – Secondary Market Premium over 2024 Retail Price
Note: Prices are based on Brand New pieces.
Submariner – Secondary Market Premium over 2024 Retail Price
Note: Prices are based on Brand New pieces.
Notably, standard steel sports models retained the highest premiums, with stainless steel Daytona and Pepsi models leading the pack. Conversely, two-tone models experienced a lag in premium growth, primarily due to the larger price hike they incurred. Among these, the rootbeer 126711CHNR still maintained the highest premium.
While generally, the secondary market prices rose in tandem with the retail price increase, the escalation was slightly less pronounced in the solid gold bracelet Daytona models, which now command premiums slightly above their retail price, whereas their Submariner and GMT counterparts often fall below retail. This discrepancy can be attributed to the substantial average price increase of 5% in retail, outpacing the secondary market’s adjustment.
Of particular interest is the resilience displayed by the Oysterflex Daytona, evidenced by premiums held by models such as the Sundust 126515LN and Ghost 126519LN, trading at S$9,800 and S$14,800, respectively.
