ROLEX SECONDARY MARKET: SUBMARINER DATE (116610LN)
The market update on the now discontinued Rolex Submariner watches. In the second part of this series, we will be covering the classic Submariner date 116610LN. We here at the Singapore watch insider have stated the speculation on the discontinuation of this model and those that held on to this model will be making a big profit.
Before the official discontinuation 1st September, the Rolex Submariner Date like all the steel Submariners has been trading higher than usual due to the speculation and anticipation of the discontinuation announcement. Hence, the Rolex Submariner Date has been trading for about $17,500.
After the announcement, the prices skyrocketed. Rising to a price that it has never reached before. If you were to pick one up now. It would cost you $18,950 SGD, which is about 8.2% increase seemingly overnight.
An 8.2% increase may seem very little as compared to the increase in Rolex 116610LV Hulk, but keep in mind that this is a non-colored dial and bezel. This is the highest price the watch has climbed to.
Note: The prices for this post are based on the list price of New/Unworn pieces with the new Rolex Warranty card in the Singapore Secondary Market.
The classic Submariner Date has long been a staple in the Rolex collection and is typically the first watch a person would get to signify their success or reaching a milestone in their life. Now it has been discontinued in its 40mm size and upgraded to a 41mm size with a new movement, if the 41mm may seem too big for your wrist, the discontinued 116610LN is just right for you.
Would you pick up this iconic watch at the current price?
