Breaking news: Rolex has not discontinued the Rolex GMT Master 2 Pepsi 126710BLRO and Sprite 126720VTNR. It also has not discontinued the Oyster Perpetual with the celebration motif dial. Rolex has yet again proven speculators wrong, time and time again.

However, much to everyone’s expectation, we saw the Rolex Daytona Lemans 126529LN being discontinued.

Discontinued: Rolex Daytona Lemans

It was released to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the 24-hour Lemans race. This makes the Rolex Daytona Lemans one of the watches with the shortest production runs, being released in June 2023 and discontinued in April 2024, giving the Lemans a production run of only 10 months. The 126529LN already carries a ridiculous secondary market price of over S$250,000. Its discontinuation, coupled with the extremely low production, will probably see prices skyrocket even further.

At the same time with the discontinuation of the Rolex Daytona Lemans in White Gold, Rolex has released the Yellow Gold version which is an off-catalogue piece.

Discontinued: Yacht-Master II

Lost in the chatter of the Rolex GMT Master II discontinuation were the rumors regarding the discontinuation of the Yacht-master II and the fluted motif dial in the 36 & 41mm Datejust. These rumors are proven to be true as we see the entire discontinuation of the Yacht-master II. The Yacht-master II has never been a popular model due to its high price tag and bulky case size. Even during the peak of the market, the stainless steel variant with the blue ceramic bezel 116680 barely went above retail. Will the discontinuation breathe some life into one of the most complicated Rolex models?

Discontinued: Datejust with Fluted Motif dial

As mentioned above, the fluted motif dial in the Datejust lineup in its entirety was also discontinued. Firstly, we have the green fluted motif dial discontinued in the stainless steel 41mm Datejust. The fluted motif blue is also discontinued in the stainless steel 36mm and 41mm Datejust. Lastly, the fluted motif blue 10-point diamonds are discontinued in the stainless steel 36mm Datejust. Next, we see the dark grey fluted motif and silver fluted motif being discontinued in the two-tone rose gold 36mm and 41mm Datejust, and the dark grey fluted motif 10-point diamond & silver fluted motif 10-point diamond discontinued in the 36mm rose gold Datejust. In the two-tone yellow gold Datejust, we see the champagne fluted motif dial discontinued in the two-tone yellow gold 41mm and 36mm Datejust, and we also see the champagne fluted motif 10-point diamond discontinued in the two-tone yellow gold 36mm Datejust.

Discontinued: Datejust with Palm Motif dial

The palm tree motif in its entirety is also discontinued. First, the green palm tree motif & green palm tree motif 10-point diamond in the stainless steel 36mm Datejust are discontinued. This is followed by the discontinuation of the silver palm tree motif & the silver palm tree motif 10-point diamond in the two-tone rose gold 36mm Datejust. In the two-tone yellow gold 36mm Datejust, we see the champagne palm motif & champagne palm motif 10-point diamond being discontinued.

Let us know what you think of the discontinued models, and if we missed any models, please inform us, and we will include them. Were you one of the many disappointed with the Pepsi/Sprite not being discontinued? We were not surprised, as Rolex rarely does the expected. Stay tuned, as we will cover the Day-date release.
