Patek Philippe New Releases: March 2023
Patek Phillipe has just released their 2023 lineup for Watch & Wonders. Key highlights include new material usage and new gem set for the Grandmaster Chime and a new array of offers for the ladies’ collection.
First off we will start with the Grandmaster Chime 6300GR, now in a two-tone of rose and white gold. Last year we saw the icing out of the Grandmaster Chime with baguette diamonds and sapphires, now it is also fitted with emeralds in the 6300/403G.
Next off in the Aquanaut line, we have the 5968R, featuring a rose gold casing, it was just last year when we saw the 5968 in white gold. The aquanaut has long been a favorite among the ladies in recent years and Patek has definitely noticed it, it has been enriching its lineup of ladies aquanaut. We have the 5261R, the first-ever annual calendar aquanaut in a uni-sex case of 39.9mm with a beautiful blue-grey dial and strap. Lastly, we have the 5268/200R, featuring a rose gold case and diamond bezel with a taupe dial and strap to match.
Next off in the Grand Complication line, we have the stunning 5316/50P, a case size of just 40.2mm all while housing a minute-repeater, a tourbillon and a perpetual calendar with retrograde date display and moon-phase indication is a feat of itself. The sapphire dial allows seeing the intricacy of the movement, even though it is not fully skeletonized.
The 5531G comes in a case size of 40.2mm, housing a minute repeater and world time. The dial centre depicts a handpainted famous steamship of the Belle Époque fleet in Lake Geneva. The world time lineup in the Patek Phillipe lineup has long been underappreciated, Patek being the first to put a world time in a wristwatch.
Next off, the 5178G houses a self-winding minute repeater in a case size of 40mm. The highlight is definitely the dial, adorned with flinqué blue Grand Feu enamel dial. The dial is finely hand-guilloched with a swirling pattern before being coated with the enamel dial. All 3 grand complications will definitely be near impossible to get as they definitely will be application pieces.
We have 4 new additions to the complication line, the 5905R now in a sunburst blue dial, a new Calatrava travel time 5224R, and two more additions to the pilot watch lineup 5924G in a green and blue dial, this is the first self-winding chronograph and travel time in the pilot watch lineup.
Next, we have 3 new Calatrava, 6007G now with a more modern and youthful look to the Calatrava lineup. It comes in 3 colorways, yellow, red, and blue. This is definitely trying to appeal to the younger crowd towards the Calatrava lineup, with the dial and strap having a “carbon” motif that has been so popular with the likes of Richard Mille, Audemars Piguet, and Hublot.
Lastly, we have another 2 more addition for the ladies, a Calatrava 4997/200R and a gondolo 4962/200R.
We will probably see a separate release of Patek’s new lineup further down the line like last year.
