|
Oct 19, 2022
Patek Phillipe has introduced some new watches in a surprise release.
First, we have to talk about the long-awaited 5811/1G now in white gold, key differences with its predecessor the discontinued 5711/1A that it is now in white gold; has its size increased to 41mm, of course, an upgraded movement of the Calibre 26-330S C and finally equipped with the new butterfly clasp now with a micro extension, it is yet to be seen that current production of Nautilus will adopt this clasp but it is definitely much appreciated in Singapore’s climate.
Next, we have a watch whose predecessor the 5990/1A in the grey dial was recently discontinued this year. It now sports a blue dial. notable differences are the upgraded movement Calibre CH 28-520 C FUS and of course the new clasp with the micro extension.
Now we move on to the rose gold models, the 5712/1R with that striking sunburst brown dial, also spots the newly upgraded clasp, intriguing as the 5712/1A remains the only Nautilus in the current production that does not have the new butterfly clasp.
Next, we have the Nautilus 7118/1300R, with the baguette cut champagne cognac and oval-shaped spessartites on the bezel and on the hour markers respectively.
Lastly, the Aquanaut 7968/300R features an amazing rainbow bezel that features two layers; one of the multi-colored sapphires and the other of baguette-cut diamonds. It also features a white mother-of-pearl dial in beautiful contrast with multi-colored sapphires hour markers. The star-stunted case features the Calibre CH 28-520 which is a fly-back chronograph, the watch also comes with 3 straps, red (originally fitted), matte beige, and matte white. Coming in at a larger size of 39.9mm, it is definitely a unisex watch. Factory gem set Patek Phillipe watches have been extremely sought after these past few years and these will no doubt follow the same path.
The Nautilus & Aquanaut line has no doubt been one of the most sought-after watches in the world, we wish everyone the best of luck in getting an allocation from your AD.
In our second part, we will be covering Patek Phillipe’s Grand Complication & Complication lines.
First, we of course have to talk about the 5373P, this year seems to be the year of left-hand watches, with Rolex releasing the GT Master 2 126710VTNR this year as well. Notably, it does not just feature a left-handed crown, the monopusher at 9 o’clock, and the dial are inverted as well; from the subdials all the way to the diamond hour marker from 6 o’clock to 12 o’clock which is a signature of Patek Phillipe platinum watches. The 5373P also carries a platinum case with a high polished bezel while the rest of the case is sateen finished, housing the Calibre CHR 27-525 PS Q.
Next, we have another split-seconds perpetual calendar, the 5204G. It features an amazing dark olive green dial which of course has been synonymous with Patek 5711/1A-014 which was only produced for one year, green/olive has been the craze lately at Patek Phillipe, with the release of the 5930P, 5905/1A-001 last year, and 5270P-014, 7130R-014, 5205R-014 in this year’s “Watches and Wonders” release.
Lastly, we have Patek Phillipe’s first ever Worldtime in stainless steel in normal production the 5935A, featuring a flyback Chronograph. It is good to see Patek Phillipe producing more stainless steel watches in their complication line due to the durability of the material.
